The student will look at various books about police officers. |

Anticipatory Set: |
We will be talking about a special community helper, the police
officer. Have the children tell you
as much as they can about a police officer.
Make a list on the board. |

Activities: |
The students will be looking at books in the Reading corner. These books will be about police
officers. The students will discuss
the various books with each other. |
|
Materials Needed: |
Police officer books, pillows, chalk, chalk board |

Assessment: |
I will observe the students at the Reading corner. I will verbally ask them about their
favorite book. |
