two step directions. Visual Arts Standard 2:
students will understand the media, techniques and processes used in
the production of visual arts. |

Objectives: |
The students will listen to the teacher’s directions and will use the
Kid Pix program to draw a firefighter.
They will use the different drawing tools and may also use the
stampers. |

Anticipatory Set: |
Today we are going to talk about a special community helper, the
firefighter. Discuss what a
firefighter does. Read the story” I’m
a Firefighter” by Mary Packard. Then explain to the children the activities
that we will be doing at each center. |
|
Activities: |
The children will learn about the different tools on Kid Pix and will
create their own firefighter picture. |
|
Materials Needed: |
Computer, Kid Pix program |
|
Assessment: |
I will observe the students while they are at the computers. I will assist the students if they are
having any difficulties. |
